Originally elected in 2018, Teresa Keng is running for re-election to represent North Fremont in City Council. Teresa is a mother of two and the wife of a marine veteran. She is a firm believer in community, the power of teamwork, and collaboration over confrontation. She is endorsed by the Fremont mayor as well as a majority of the Fremont council. The main issues that she seeks to tackle include housing & homelessness, COVID-19 relief, ensuring police accountability, and building the community. Both of her children are on the autism spectrum, which encourages her to vigorously pursue solutions to educational equity and helping those with special needs. Teresa champions the community values of accountability and transparency in all city departments and celebrates the diversity of communities in Fremont.

Story

First elected in 2018 to a two-year term for the newly formed District 1, Teresa is the first Council Member to represent North Fremont in 12 years. She believes in collaborationother than confrontation. As a long time resident of Fremont, and as a small business owner with a business in the District, Teresa has the unique perspective to bring to City Hall. she has advocated for safe communities, efficient transportation upgrades, and smart, sustained growth to support the growing population. Teresa has a Masters Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Recognizing diversity as the city’s strength, Teresa will continue to champion community driven solutions to hate, crime and indifference.

Policy

Teresa seeks to tackle include housing & homelessness, COVID-19 relief, ensuring police accountability, and building the community. She champions the community values of accountability and transparency in all city departments, and highly values the diversity of communities in Fremont. Teresa believes in the the necessity of working and creating jobs for economic vitality, as well as having accessible local government and has participated in partnerships to ensure ample resources are provided for schools and her community.
